Internships

Internships can be completed with COM 4330 after meeting with and receiving approval from internship director Ray Marcano. This approval must be received no later than the last day of classes of the academic term prior to when the internship is completed. You must turn in a job description, the credentials of the supervisor, and an explanation as to how theory will meet practice with the completion of the internship. You must email the hours worked to the internship director each week.

By the last day of classes of the academic term when the internship is completed, you will turn in (either in paper or digitized):

  • An assessment letter from the supervisor
  • Samples of work when possible
  • A 1,000 – 1,500-word essay highlighting your internship experiences and linking course content learned to your internship’s real-world experience

A sample of past internships includes, but is not limited to, positions at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton Dragons, Disneyland, Ohio Attorney General’s office, Cox Media, CIA, religious organizations, and hospitals.
