Why Choose National Security Studies?

Pursue a national security studies certificate from Wright State and you will learn about U.S. national and international security systems as well as the range of existing, potential, and emerging security threats, both domestic and foreign. Your coursework will emphasize problem solving, communication and cross-cultural understanding. You will learn how to critically analyze these threats and craft appropriate policy responses to them.

Earning a national security studies certificate can help enhance your career opportunities if you wish to work as an analyst or policymaker promoting national and global security. Analysts help reduce the risk of uncertain situations by gathering known information and weighing it against probability factors to recommend the most advisible course of action. A national security policy is a guide to actions that help a nation protect its population.
