Real-World Experience

French students at Wright State enjoy a plethora of study abroad options, from short-term professor-led experiences to semester programs for foreign students to matriculating in a French university through an exchange program. You can experience French or francophone culture firsthand, gain linguistic and cultural confidence, and become more attractive to future employers for your willingness to take risks and your sense of curiosity.

Founded in 2003, the summer Ambassador Program to France is one of the university’s longest-running programs. Program leaders keep fees low by planning the trip without travel agencies.

You may also gain valuable service experience by serving as an officer of the French Club. You will plan, advertise, and direct club events and activities with the help of an advisor.

Advanced students may be hired as supplemental instructors for elementary and intermediate French courses, in addition to earning credit by working as a language assistant in lower level classes. Wright State has many opportunities for earning credits while living or traveling abroad.
