Applied Behavioral Science Student Researches Informal Social Attachments and Desistance from Heroin

My project was a qualitative research on those who have chosen to desist from heroin. I wanted to see if their decision to quit heroin was in relation to informal social attachments such as employment and children. During the research it was found that informal social attachments assist those with maintaining sobriety, but is not the main reason these individuals initially decided to quit using heroin.
