Welcome Hyeseon Jeong

Hyeseon Jeong

Please join us in welcoming our newest faculty member, Hyeseon Jeong, Visiting Assistant Professor for the Department of Urban Affairs and Geography. Hyeseon earned her PhD. from The Ohio State University in Geography and also concentrated in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She received both her M.A. in International Relations and her B.A. in Linguistics from Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.

At Wright State Hyeseon is teaching Foundations and Methods of Geography, Urban Geography, and Cartography. She is also working on a critical review of developmental state theory through an investigation of Saemaul ODA -a foreign aid program launched by the South Korean government last year. The review will aid her other research activities, which include the preparation of a book manuscript focusing on the relationship between foreign aid and the developmental state, both as a recipient of aid and as a donor.

Hyeseon has found WSU to be very inviting, and is looking forward to using our unique tunnel system this winter. Welcome, Hyeseon!
