Master’s Thesis: Welfare Dependency and Work Ethic: A Quantitative and Qualitative 
 Assessment

Yvonne Christopher, B.A., M.A. has an extensive career in the social services, having worked for Auglaize County Mental Health Services in St. Mary’s, Ohio; Community Action of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Van Wert County Department of Human Services child protective services investigations in Van Wert, Ohio, and the Allen County Division of Family and Children, child protection investigations unit in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Currently, she works for the Montgomery County Department of Jobs and Family Services, adult protective services investigations in Dayton, Ohio. Yvonne’s master’s thesis examined relationships between welfare use and the work ethic construct. The Multidimensional Work Ethic Profile was administered to a total of 585 subjects aged 18 years and older; demographic and socioeconomic surveys were also administered. Descriptive, bivariate and multiple regression analyses were conducted in the completion of her thesis. Yvonne served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve and currently holds a license in Social Work from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.  We congratulate and celebrate Yvonne’s accomplishments.
