Festival Overview

October 13-14, 2024
Creative Arts Center, Wright State University

The Wright State University School of Fine and Performing Arts – Choral Department is proud to present its annual Wright State Choral Festival, formerly known as the Mad River Vocal Arts Festival. This two-day event features a select honor choir composed of high school singers from all over the state and region. Students will gather for rehearsal, concerts, and clinics, which will culminate in a performance in Wright State's Schuster Hall on Monday, October 14, at 7:30 p.m. The festival will be conducted by our Director of Choral Studies, Dr. Adam Kluck, and students will have opportunities to work with other Wright State vocal faculty members throughout the event.

This year, we welcome Stacey Gibbs, internationally renowned composer and conductor. Stacey V. Gibbs is a prolific and highly sought-after composer, arranger, and clinician. Best known for arrangements of spirituals, he is highly acclaimed for his ability to infuse new energy into familiar works without sacrificing their authenticity or power.

Application and Registration

There is no restriction on the number of students you can nominate; all are welcome!

There is also no expectation of learning the repertoire before the festival. Space is limited, so please register early.
