The Wright State University School of Fine and Performing Arts is proud to announce the return of choir festivals to our campus with the Wright State Choral Festival. This two-day event features a select honor choir composed of high school singers from all over the state and region. Students will gather for rehearsal, concerts, and clinics which will culminate in a performance in Wright State's Schuster Hall. The Festival will be conducted by our new Director of Choral Studies, Dr. Nathan Nagir, and students will have opportunities to work with other Wright State vocal faculty members throughout the event.
One component of the Wright State Choral Festival will be a Professional Development Workshop for choral directors on Friday, October 28, from 9 am. to 4 p.m. The workshop will include clinics and lunch. The workshop is free and directors must register in advance.
This year, there is no restriction to the number of students you can nominate; all are welcome! There is also no expectation to learn the repertoire before the festival. Space is limited, so please get your registration in early.
Applications are due by or on Friday, October 21.
The student fee for the Wright State Choral Festival is $50. There is no fee for choral directors planning on attending the Professional Development Day on Friday, October 28.
Two types of online registration are available:
Directors wishing to register for the Professional Development Workshop should email Bill Jobert, Coordinator of Music Education, at william.jobert@wright.edu.
