Christopher Chaffee

Christopher Chaffee is Professor of Flute at Wright State University, Instructor of Flute at Interlochen Arts Camp, and a Yamaha Performing Artist. In high demand as an artist and teacher, he is a guest artist and clinician at conservatories, universities and high schools across the United States. Dr. Chaffee is a recording artist and blogger with New York City based Open G Records, and his 2015 album Four Prayers is available worldwide. As a member of the Wright Winds quintet and Sapphire Wind Trio, he regularly performs school concerts and recitals across the country. His students have recently earned prizes in the Central Ohio Flute Association, National Flute Association, and Clark Haines Memorial competitions. Dr. Chaffee earned degrees from the Eastman School of Music (BM), Michigan State University (MM), and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (DMA). He was also a four-year scholarship student at the Interlochen Arts Academy. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, Vice President of Chamber Music Yellow Springs, and a volunteer with Tecumseh Land Trust and Mills Lawn Schools.
