Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley will keynote a campus and community forum as part of CELIA’s RISING: Women in American Culture since Suffrage. In celebration of the centennial anniversary of 19th Amendment recognizing women’s suffrage in the United States, this yearlong slate of events features women’s accomplishments in myriad capacities. Mayor Whaley’s talk, entitled Leadership Journey: Interpersonal Conversation with Mayor Nan Whaley, will be presented in an interview style based on student questions and facilitated by Wright State University students. Mayor Whaley will have a conversation with the larger Dayton community about her leadership journey and stimulate audience members to think about their own paths to leadership. Please join us for this lively conversation!

Nan Whaley is proud to choose Dayton as her home. Originally from Indiana, Whaley attended the University of Dayton where she graduated in 1998 and soon settled in the Five Oaks neighborhood, where she and her husband Sam reside today.
