About the Play
Arthur Miller’s classic drama about hysteria, accusation, and the cost of truth in a community gripped by fear. Directed by Professor and Artistic Director, Marya Spring Cordes (last season’s director for Only in New York).

Cast Bios
Meg Adams (Mercy Lewis) (she/her). Recent roles include Abigail Adams (1776), Rosa (Concord Floral) and Soloist (Forever Wonderettes, ArtsGala). Meg spent the summer interning with Nashville's The Theater Bug and is artistic director of the Directing Lab at Wright State. Thank you to her friends and family for their support!
Jordan Brian Allen (Deputy Governor Danforth) (he/him) is a senior acting major born in Detroit. Recent Wright State productions include The History Boys (Headmaster), The Wedding Singer (Sweet Jim/Mr. T) and Assassins (John Wilkes Booth, Directing Lab production). Madysen Ashley (Susanna Wolcott) (she/her) is a senior acting major. Her previous roles at Wright State include Inspector Goring (The Game’s Afoot), Seacoal/Friar u/s (Much Ado About Nothing) and Sara Jane Moore (Assassins). This will be her second time appearing in The Crucible. She is a proud descendant of Rebecca Nurse.
Keith Board (u/s Hathorne, u/s Danforth) is excited for his first show at Wright State. Keith has previously performed in Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye), Beetlejuice (Betelgeuse) and Hello Dolly (Horace Vandergelder). Eve Diamond (Mary Warren) (she/her) is thrilled to be a part of this deeply relevant play with this cast and crew! She is a senior acting major at Wright State, where she has played Forever Irene (Concord Floral) and George Read (1776). Elizabeth Froedge (Abigail Williams) (she/her) is a senior acting major from Louisville, Kentucky. She has performed in 1776 and The Game’s Afoot at Wright State, and she just finished a summer season of dancing at Kings Island. Last seen in The History Boys (Hector) and The Game’s Afoot (Felix Geisel) at Wright State, Jacob proudly spent the summer with TheatreLab Dayton starring in Amour (Dusoleil).

Emma Vernon (Betty Parris) (she/her) is a senior acting major. She is excited and beyond thankful to have been a part of this production. This is her second appearance on the Festival Playhouse stage after 1776 (Painter). Ethan Worthington (Giles Corey) is a junior from Liberty Township, Ohio. His previous roles include Cogsworth in Beauty and The Beast and ensemble in Les Misérables. Ethan would like to dedicate this role to his late grandmother and his family.
Madeline Zabela (Elizabeth Proctor) (she/her) is a senior musical theatre major, and her recent credits include 1776 (Thomas Jefferson), Concord Floral (Bobbie James), Carrie (ensemble, Sue Snell u/s), and Much Ado About Nothing (Hero u/s). She gives her love and appreciation to her amazing senior class, her friends, and the Cain and Zabela families.
Mia Zink (u/s Mary, u/s Betty) (she/her) is a sophomore musical theatre major from Independence, Kentucky. At Wright State, you may have seen her in 1776 (Swing/u/s Martha). Other recent credits include The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati and Kings Island Live entertainment. Enjoy the show!
Creative Team Bios
Jessica Arthur (Costume Designer) graduated in 2007 from CCM. She designed costumes for Wright State's production of The Light in the Piazza. In the 2010s, she was the resident designer for in-house productions at Kings Island. Since then, she has been working in the film and theater industries and is a proud union member of IATSE locals 209 and 864.
Felix Bahrou (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman acting major. This is the first production he has contributed to at Wright State, and he's so excited for you to see the show.
Arthur Billups (Stage Manager) (he/him) is a junior stage management major from Tipp City. His recent credits include stage manager for Wright State’s Concord Floral and assistant stage manager for The History Boys, Alice by Heart and Carrie: The Musical. He is thrilled to be a part of this amazing production.
Lauren Crane (Properties Manager) is thrilled to be a part of the production team for The Crucible. Some of her recent work includes serving as properties master for Concord Floral, assistant costume designer for The Wedding Singer and costume designer for Only in New York. Outside of Wright State, she enjoys working on special effects puppetry and costumes, as well as performing and volunteering as fantasy characters and superheroes.
Levi T. Fravel (Lighting Designer) is a senior design/technology major with a concentration in lighting design. Levi is thrilled to be working on this show and is looking forward to post-graduation life. Previous design credits include The History Boys and Everybody at Wright State. Levi hopes you enjoy the show and wants to thank friends and family for the continued support throughout the years.
Meaghan Keogh (Assistant Stage Manager) (she/her) is so grateful to be a part of The Crucible. She is a freshman acting major, who jumped at the first opportunity to be part of a production. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Marya Spring Cordes (Director/Artistic Director) currently serves as artistic director for Wright State University Theatre and Dance. She was previously head of acting and has been with the university for 15 years. She has an M.F.A. in Directing from Carnegie Mellon University. She helmed THE PUZZLE Festival of New Works in New York City for six years, and she brings new works development experience to Wright State. She is a member of Alexander Technique International and is a certified teaching member of Alexander Technique. At The Human Race Theatre Company (where she holds the status of a resident artist), her directing credits include: Peerless, Now and Then, Gloria: A Life, Sylvia, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Becky’s New Car and Managing Maxine. At Wright State University, most recent productions include: Only in New York, Our Town, Arcadia, Sweet Charity, Orson Wells’ War of the Worlds radio drama, in partnership with WYSO in Yellow Springs, The Wolves and The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime. She is an active member of the Actors’ Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. She formerly served as co-chair of the Executive Board of Alexander Technique International.
Maggie Slauenwhite (Set Designer) is excited and grateful to design her first mainstage play, The Crucible. She is a senior in Wright State’s design/technology program with a concentration in technical direction and scenic design. She is proud to be scene shop manager for this year’s theatre season. Her other Wright State work includes: scenic design for Only in New York, assistant technical direction for Concord Floral, head carpentry for Everybody, Much Ado About Nothing, and Alice by Heart. She has worked professionally as a carpenter for The Lexington Theatre Company, and she was assistant technical director for The Lexington Theatre Company’s recent production of Les Misérables. She also spent a summer in New York building professionally with The Forestburgh Playhouse.
