We aim to provide our students with a well-rounded education in philosophy. We offer courses in critical thinking, formal logic, ethics, epistemology, and metaphysics; courses concentrated on a particular historical periods (ancient/medieval/modern/contemporary); courses focused on particular philosophical problems (e.g., philosophy of mind); courses that examine the underlying assumptions of other disciplines (e.g., philosophy of religion); courses devoted to thorough examination of one or two particular philosophers or philosophies (e.g., existentialism); and, of course, an introductory course entitled "Philosophy: The Big Questions."
