Language Placement

Students who have studied a classical language prior to entrance into Wright State, and wish to continue taking that language, should take a placement test to determine the appropriate course for which they should register.

Prior Learning Assessment

The School of Humanities and Cultural Studies (SoHCS) allows students who have studied a classical language prior to entrance into Wright State to seek prior learning credit in that language through Wright State University's Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Policy. To begin the PLA process:

  • Email sohcs@wright.edu to notify the School of your interest in pursuing PLA credit for LAT 1010-2020: Latin.
  • Complete required payment and PLA paperwork, including any required DocuSign forms.
  • Follow instructions provided by SoHCS to complete the assessment.
