On Friday March 24th, fifteen students were nominated for lifetime membership in the Wright State chapter of Pi Delta Phi, la Société d’Honneur Française. They met the strict scholastic requirements for membership, having a minimum GPA of 3.25 in their French courses and a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

On Friday March 17, 2017, professors Abadie and Daddah, organized a “Conversation Evening" for their French Conversation classes. They invited their students to an evening of conversation and good food at the Campus Ministry Kitchen.

The Chinese Club had a great turn out of Chinese and American students at this year's Dumpling Party on Friday, February 3rd, 2017. We celebrated the spring festival and the beginning of the lunar new year, by making vegetarian and beef dumplings, a traditional new year's food. The process took over two hours, from mixing the filling, to wrapping the dumplings and frying the finished product. We made over 400 dumplings and everyone left happy and full!

The Department of Modern Languages hosted the fourth Chinese Immersion Day on January 26, 2017 in the Student Union Apollo Room. Chinese Instructors, Haili Du and Maan Broadstock, organized the immersion experience for around 110 high and middle school students with at least one year of Chinese language instruction.
