On Friday April 13, 2018, French professors, Pascale Abadie and Karine Daddah took their French 2020 classes to the Lebanese restaurant Cedar Land in Dayton. The experience was great as it allowed students to leverage what they have learned in class and connect their knowledge to real life experience. Students enjoyed speaking French outside of the classroom while eating some delicious Lebanese food.

On Friday, April 6th, 5 students were nominated for lifetime membership in the Wright State chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, la Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica. On Friday March 23, eight students were nominated for lifetime membership in the Wright State chapter of Pi Delta Phi, la Société d’Honneur Française. On Friday March 16, 2018, professors Abadie and Daddah, organized a “Conversation Evening" for their French Conversation classes. They invited their students to an evening of conversation and good food on campus. The students conversed with a group of French speaking people from Senegal, Congo, Mauritania, Canada, Rwanda, France, Koweit and Belgium. The Department of Modern Languages hosted the fifth Chinese Immersion Day on Feb. 15, 2018 in the Student Union Apollo Room. Chinese Instructor, Haili Du , organized the immersion experience for 85 high and middle school students with at least one year of Chinese language instruction.
