English

Sarah McGinley has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to student learning throughout her 16 years as a faculty member in the Department of English. She works tirelessly to serve students and is highly engaged in her department and university through significant committee work and collaboration with her colleagues. Ms. McGinley teaches a wide range of courses for the department. She has proven her academic flexibility on multiple occasions by teaching classes generally covered by colleagues who were on leave and by creating courses for underserved students. She has been the faculty advisor for five student clubs and for several years administered the sexuality studies minor. Her generous establishment of two endowments has helped many students earn their English degrees and enjoy British literature through the university library. Ms. McGinley is a valued member of the department who mentors adjuncts, provides guest lectures for graduate courses, and participates in professional development events. She has served on several departmental and university committees and is actively involved with the AAUP, gracefully carrying the burden of representing her colleagues.
