Sarah Cavender

When a professor encouraged Sarah Cavender to get involved with the student newspaper everything came together. Her experience on The Wright State Guardian and with her major in Communication enabled her to accomplish her goals and pursue her dreams and empowered her ability to lead and pursue a change in her campus community through journalism. She has served as a news reporter and editor in chief at The Guardian, interned with—and subsequently been hired by--Cox Media, and participated in student organizations. As a journalist she has written stories about her fellow peers, professors, and community members. She has also spoken at conferences and gotten involved in state legislation. Sarah says Wright State has helped her accomplish more than she could have imagined.
