Recognition Year:
2019-20

After high school, native Daytonian Michael Krieger spent several years in New York City with street punks, squatters, and fringe artists, which helped steer him to take his passion for art and acquire formal education seeking a degree. He graduates WSU with two art degrees—a BFA in Photography and Painting, along with a BA in Art History. During his studies Michael has collected many awards and honors including Three ArtsGala scholarships, the COLA Dean’s list and inclusion in the nomination-only Cline Show. He was invited to present art history research at the Riess colloquium and travelled to Italy as part of the Wright State Ambassador program to study photography and the history of Italian art. After graduating WSU Michael plans to seek a master’s degree in Photography or Art History.
