Recognition Year:
2022

An outstanding, innovative, and popular teacher of French, Karine Ould-Daddah has lived all over the world, earned an M.B.A., and become a small business owner.

Professor Ould-Daddah creates unique and exciting experiential learning opportunities for students of French. For example, she has developed a popular, fast-paced summer course on French cuisine and film. In this course, which requires hands-on participation, students are introduced to new dishes. They learn cooking techniques alongside vocabulary while analyzing films to understand the social and historical significance of food. She brings the richness of her travel experiences in West Africa and South France to host cultural workshops and community dinners, where students get a chance to interact with French speakers from all over the world. In this way, by going above and beyond, Professor Ould-Daddah helps students learn and live the French language and culture.
