She is also the 2021 Top Scholar in the College of Liberal Arts, was on the Dean’s List as a Highest Honors 4.0 student every semester at WSU, and she is a member of Phi Kappa Phi. Karen is from Columbus but has also lived in Merced, California; Spain; Miami and Tampa; Little Rock; and Washington, D.C. As a little girl, Karen accompanied her mother to WSU as she pursued and completed her Master’s degree. She says, “I never dreamed that “I” would be here too. I have always longed to learn all about my African American culture, heritage, and history which led me to pursue the African and African American Studies Program at WSU. Wright State University has always opened its doors and welcomed everyone! I would like to commend all of my professors at Wright State University and Central State University for their support. “With God, all things are possible,” Matthew 19:26.
