Theatre, Dance, and Motion Pictures

In addition to maintaining a high standard in his private voice studio, Jamie Cordes is program director of MAPP—Wright State’s Musical Theatre/Acting Preparatory Program.

As the department shifted to online teaching during the pandemic, Mr. Cordes was instrumental in developing and sharing an effective pedagogy and technological solutions to teaching needs peculiar to the Theatre, Dance and Motion Pictures department. He founded MAPP, which engages local pre-college students ages 12-18 in special training as artists. He frequently directs departmental productions, most recently If/Then, Heathers, The Wild Party, and Sondheim on Sondheim.  Mr. Cordes has served as a director for Wright State’s ArtsGala events for more than 13 years, each year creating and casting a new show to serve ArtsGala’s specific needs and showcase our students’ talents.
