Wright State Model UN Wins Multiple Awards

The Wright State Model United Nations team participated in the 2013 NMUN Korea Conference in November.   WSU Delegates Josh Cummins, Jonas Kiessling, Hanna Tarbert, and Angie Loyd brought home multiple awards for individual performances as well as team performance.  In addition to participating in the conference the team went on multiple excursions including the Imperial Palace and the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea to learn about the ancient and recent history of Korea.

While the students enjoyed seeing these major destinations they also visited smaller villages and local shopping centers in order to truly experience Korean culture beyond tourist attractions. This cultural exchange forged new bonds with the Yonsei University which hosted the conference and other universities from outside the United States and furthered Wright State University's positive academic reputation at the international level. This conference is one of many international conferences the Model United Nations team has participated in over the past ten years and the team looks forward to participating in future conferences abroad in order to continue representing the high quality of Wright State University's academic programs. The students are very appreciative for the support they received from the Provost’s Office and the experience they had.
