The New Media Incubator, in association with the Wright State Veteran and Military Center and Ohio Humanities* is proud to present the docuseries—Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories.
This docuseries shares the stories of veterans in six focus areas:
It is vital that we capture and preserve the stories of veterans who have served our country. These stories are part of our national history, our local culture, the lives of our community members—in short, these stories matter. Let’s continue telling them!
If you are a veteran, we want to hear your story.

Communication is the key to any longlasting relationship. The first segment of Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories explores how some families tackled communicating during their spouse’s deployment.
Partnership and communication are at the core of every military family. The second installment of the Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories docuseries sheds light on the dynamics of military life during deployment. This episode pushes back on the assumptions that many people have about military spouses and the challenges that they face.
Dr. Robert Anthony once said that “the opposite of bravery is not cowardice but conformity.” The third installment of the Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories docuseries explores the experiences of LGBT veterans faced before, during and after “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy.
Transitioning back into civilian life can be both a challenge and an adventure. The fourth installment of the Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories docuseries chronicles the experiences of vetreprenuers, highlighting how these servicemembers put their military training to work as business owners.
The Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories docuseries hope to encourage veterans to be proud of their service today and every day, even in the face of the job search. The fifth installment of this docuseries explores various businesses and organizations that have an explicit commitment to hiring veterans and providing support as they adjust to life as civilians.
The sixth installment in the Veterans’ Voices: Lives and Stories docuseries seeks to drive home the point that there isn’t a typical veteran. They come in all shapes, sizes, orientations and colors – everyone’s story is unique. This episode explores the identity of today's veterans, the absence of a military stereotype, and how it affects civilians' perspective of the military and veterans.
