Tionna “Tia” Clyburn completed a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies at Wright State University and will start work as part-time Digital Content Producer for the Springfield News-Sun. She previously obtained an associate degree in music with a focus in education from Sinclair Community College in 2019. Since transferring to Wright State in August 2019, Tia has worked hard to achieve top grades in all her classes. She also has been actively involved in media production on campus with the New Media Incubator. Tia has perfected her writing and digital content production skills, finding a voice in writing about social issues and gaining traction in social media management. Being of African American and Japanese descent, her topics of diversity, inclusion, and social change are things she is passionate about, both in her writing and content she creates. In her second-to-last semester of studies at WSU, Tia had the opportunity to publish her work with the Dayton Daily News, which led to an internship with them in Spring 2021. During this time, she wrote an article for DDN every week, sharing the stories of local citizens. Halfway through the spring semester, Tia had the opportunity to apply for a position with the Springfield News-Sun and was accepted into the position of Digital Content Producer. She says her educational experience at Wright State University and her hard work prepared her well for the road ahead.
