Thomas Fenton has been instrumental in helping the university achieve its mission of transforming the communities it serves. As lecturer and assistant director of the LEAP Intensive English Program, his community is international. He has taught courses at all levels, as well as provided critical support for the program and its students.  Mr. Fenton is a strong advocate for Wright State’s international students, and he provides vital support to LEAP students who are struggling academically.  He counsels and connects them with resources so they find a path to success in LEAP and as they transition to the university’s academic programs. His administrative responsibilities are significant, including oversight of LEAP admissions, registration, orientation, outreach, recruitment, and grant writing. He has served on numerous department and university-level committees such as the International Student Advocate Award Committee, Faculty Senate, and the Undergraduate Student Success Committee. Mr. Fenton has created invaluable connections and established relationships with programs and services across campus and across the world to support international students.
