Natasha Ames

Natasha Ames is an advanced standing student in the Greater Miami Valley Joint MASW program and will be graduating in May with a Master of Social Work degree. While a student, Natasha co-founded the Gerontology Club at Wright State University, serving as the President of the organization. She has also co-created and presented an advocacy training for Sinclair Community College students, helped plan and promote the first Miami Valley LGBT Horizons on Aging Conference, and helped create and distribute information about the Thrive with Pride Survey for older LGBT persons in the Miami Valley. She also facilitates the KidShop program once a month for NAMI Montgomery County. Natasha has received a volunteer service award for completing over 100 hours at a Dayton long-term care facility. She is also a member of the Public Health LGBT Health Alliance, the LGBTQ Health & Aging Board of Greater Dayton, and the Miami Valley Alzheimer’s Association Diversity sub-committee.
