Mackenzie Lane is a junior studying social work, and she is very involved on campus. She is a member of Black Women Striving Forward where she has served as treasurer and collaboration chair. Mackenzie helped to charter a chapter of the Association of Black Social Workers on Wright State’s campus when she noticed a need for a unified community for black social work students. She recently became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and serves as the social media chair for her Epsilon Rho chapter. Mackenzie served as a student panelist for the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct where she saw a duty to keep her community safe. She also spends time volunteering at Equitas Health, formerly known as the Ohio AIDS Resource Center. After receiving her degree in social work, Mackenzie plans to attend graduate school at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work in the advanced standing program.
