Laura Luehrmann’s contributions to the teaching, research, and professional service mission of the university are exemplary. In her nearly 20 years at Wright State, she has become an outstanding role model in the classroom and a respected and prolific scholar. She is well known on campus and in the community for her substantial service on behalf of the university. Dr. Luehrmann is an award-winning teacher. She offers classes covering a wide range of topics and consistently receives near-perfect scores on student evaluations. She has a national reputation as a scholar in comparative politics, having written numerous articles, a book chapter, and four books. Her scholarship is insightful and of very high quality. Under Dr. Luehrmann’s direction, the Master of Arts in International and Comparative Politics program has flourished. She has participated on an impressive number of committees, including Faculty Senate, the Academic Reorganization Committee, and the Graduate Council. She has lectured at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the University of Dayton and appeared frequently on local television programs as the go-to expert in international issues.
