Erin Flanagan is a tremendously accomplished, productive scholar with a significant body of work that has attracted international attention. 

A professor of English, she is this year’s winner of the Edgar Award, which honors the best in mystery fiction. The Edgar is considered the highest national award for crime writers. Dr. Flanagan’s other works have also drawn critical acclaim and been nominated for prestigious awards. She shares her skills with Wright State’s creative writing program and her students benefit enormously from working with a writer who is clearly at the top of her game. Dr. Flanagan is a role model for these aspiring authors. As her nominating letter put it, “Her significant body of work in the creative arts has brought distinction, not only to herself as a writer and faculty member, but also to Wright State as a university.”
