Curtis Magee

Curtis Magee has completed a bachelor's degree in Music Performance and a minor in German. He has played in the WSU Wind Symphony and Chamber Orchestra throughout his undergraduate years and has served as principal bassoonist for both ensembles the past two years. He has additionally performed in the WSU Jazz Band, Men's Chorale, Chamber Winds, and Bassoon Ensemble. In 2018 he was named Outstanding Woodwind and in 2017 he was inducted into the National German Honor Society Collegiate Chapter for Wright State. An active member of Phi Mu Alpha chapter here at Wright State, he has been an award-winning chapter officer and regularly volunteered to work audition days, stage manage recitals, and Creative Arts clean up days. He represented Wright State at the National Biennial Conference of Phi Mu Alpha in New Orleans. Curtis performs regularly with the Kettering Praise Orchestra, serves on the teaching staff of the Northmont High School and Centerville High School marching bands, and teaches woodwind lessons in the Northmont School District. After graduation he plans to attend graduate school and pursue dual studies in bassoon performance and music theory.
