Leadership Scholarship Recipient

Alyssa Evans, a recent graduate of the Greater Miami Valley Joint MASW program, is pleased to put her education and experience to work as the founder and co-director of the Be Hope Immigration Center, an initiative that seeks to expand affordable access to immigration legal services for the Dayton community. Alyssa’s passion for diverse relationships stems from her experiences traveling and learning more about the world and the people who call it home. Beginning at an early age, she experienced the joy that comes from engaging different cultures and customs by making connections with people across the globe while traveling. These friendships opened her to the reality that life is more abundant when shared. After completing her bachelor's in International Studies at Wright State University, Alyssa returned to WSU to earn a master’s degree in Social Work with the hopes of using both to help strengthen and support the immigrant community in Dayton as the co-director of the Be Hope Immigration Center. She loves the city of Dayton and wants to help make it a welcoming space for all of its residents by bringing people together to learn, work, and grow alongside one another.
