On Friday, April 10th, 7 students were nominated for lifetime membership in the Wright State chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, la Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica. These students met the overall requirements for membership, holding a minimum 3.0 GPA in their Spanish courses and a 3.2 overall GPA, as well as having successfully completed at least one course in Hispanic literature or Hispanic culture and civilization.

This semester, Francisco Marques-Vuelta taught members of the Spanish Club to play la escoba, a Spanish card game. Students were provided with the rules in both Spanish and English and formed groups of 4 to play. One lucky student even left the event with her very own deck of Spanish playing cards!

We are pleased to announce the Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries received a donation of three etchings by artist Katja Oxman. Born in Germany, Oxman studied art in Germany, England, and the United States, specializing in printmaking. Her work has been exhibited in over one hundred group shows in the United States and is in many museum and corporate collections world wide.

On Friday April 10th, 2015, the department of Modern Languages organized and co-sponsored its annual "Favorite Poems Friday" event with the department of English.
French, Spanish, Italian Arabic, Japanese and Chinese were some of the languages represented.
Thanks to all those who were able to participate, especially to those students who read poems in their original language.
