Selections from the Permanent Collection has been curated by one of our Spring 2020 Student Interns, Bradley Weng. This exhibiton would have been displayed in our Lower Gallery at the time of our annual Senior Show (on the second floor). Although closed for the pandemic, we want to share his vision for the exhibition with you!

Statement from the curator

These works from Wright State University’s permanent collection are meant to be viewed concurrently and serve as compliment to the Art and Art History Department’s 2020 Senior Thesis Exhibition. This selection, reflecting many of the practices learned throughout an art education, has three goals: to render the viewer incapable of differentiating between the efforts of a student or art owned in an institutional collection, draw comparisons between scholar and pupil, and validate the practice and effort of upcoming graduates. Disciplines covered include painting, printmaking, sculpture, and photography, but will also include studies of line and form –a significant part of artists training which is seldom seen.
