Spring 2014 Communication Dept. Activities
Dr. Scott Peterson to Present on the Dawn of Baseball Journalism before Men's Basketball Game on 1/21/14
The dawn of baseball journalism will be the topic presented by Dr. Scott Peterson, Assistant Professor of Communication, for the University Athletics Council’s Pre-game Lecture before the Wright State Raiders’ basketball game Tuesday, January 21st.
Over the past several years the University Athletics Council has sponsored a series of lectures prior to select men's basketball games at the Nutter Center (in the Berry Room). The purpose of these lectures is to use the general public's interest in athletics to draw attention to the scholarly work at Wright State.
Dr. Peterson’s presentation will start about 5:30 p.m. All the student athletes (and their parents) from CoLA will be invited to attend the pre-game lecture and will be recognized. Those who attend the lecture will have ample time to go to their seats prior to the 7:00 p.m. start of the game, a Horizon League contest against U. Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
