Nate Cook, '20

Department of Modern Languages Outstanding Senior, German
Recognition Year:
2020

Nate Cook was born and raised in Michigan City, Indiana. In 6th grade, he learned to play the trumpet and that has been a huge part of his life ever since. He played in every band possible in high school.  He went on to study Music Education at Ball State University.  He even marched two summers with a Division 1 Drum and Bugle Corps. After deciding teaching music was not his calling, he joined the Army. With the Army, he spent a year in South Korea and three years in Tacoma, Washington. Now out of the Army and using his GI Bill, he will graduate with a Bachelor’s in German, laying the foundation of a life-long goal of becoming fluent in German. When he is not studying German, he enjoys riding one of his several bikes, playing with his dogs, and keeping the rust off his trumpet.
