WRIGHT STATE LANGUAGE ARTS FAIR CELEBRATES LITERACY

Meet Author Julie Drew

On Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the English and Education Departments present the Language Arts Fair.  Local students, teachers, families, and friends are invited to celebrate the work of English teachers and students at the fifth annual Language Arts Fair at Wright State University. Middle and high school students’ projects will be displayed in the Millett Hall Atrium. English majors will also share their literature response and multi-genre research projects from their Integrated Language Arts classes. Electronic slide shows and videos will be featured. The day will culminate with Julie Drew reading from one of her young adult novels and sharing her road to publication. Julie is the author of the popular Tesla Effect Trilogy about a young teen with mysterious abilities. A book signing and pizza will follow.

Following the program, teachers who wish to learn more about the state requirements for the Resident Educators program will have an opportunity to meet with experienced teachers and administrators. This event is jointly sponsored by the English Department and the College of Education and Human Services. Wright State continues to have a strong presence with local teachers who are implementing innovative teaching strategies to empower their students' writing and reading skills.
