Art Internships

The Art Program works with area arts organizations to coordinate internships that will challenge you to apply and refine the skills you've acquired through coursework in real-world situations, expanding your sense of how and where an education in the visual arts can be applied.

Internships can be completed for one, two, or three credit hours. The number of credit hours taken will determine the amount of time spent on-site per week. A journal of weekly activities must be kept throughout the semester, and a three to five-page narrative summarizing the internship experience must be submitted at the end of the semester.

Organizations that have partnered with the department in the past include the Stein Galleries, the Dayton Art Institute, the Contemporary Dayton, and the Dayton Society of Artists, among others.
