Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Certificate


Program Description and Admission Requirements:

An undergraduate certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies can be completed by any student admitted to Wright State University who wishes to gain a professional credential for working on women's/gender issues in various occupations.

A minimum grade of “C” is required for each course counted toward the certificate. Electives must be at least 3000-level; see the approved course list for available options or confirm with the program coordinator.

Learning Objectives:

All students in the certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies will learn to:

*discuss scholarship and activism related to women, gender, and sexuality in multicultural and global contexts

*understand the history of U.S. women’s movements and theoretical foundations of feminism and sexuality studies in the academy

*Understand the varieties of experience and identity related to gender and sexuality

* apply the skills of critical thinking, and written and oral communication across disciplines that study gender and sexuality in the Liberal Arts
