My project was a qualitative research on those who have chosen to desist from heroin. I wanted to see if their decision to quit heroin was in relation to informal social attachments such as employment and children. During the research it was found that informal social attachments assist those with maintaining sobriety, but is not the main reason these individuals initially decided to quit using heroin.

The Applied Behavioral Sciences Master's Program is proud to recognize Aerial Nies by nominating her to receive CoLA's 2017-2018 Outstanding Graduate Student Award! Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio Aerial completed her Bachelors in the Crime & Justice Studies Program and returned to excel as a student in the ABS program.

On Friday April 13, 2018, French professors, Pascale Abadie and Karine Daddah took their French 2020 classes to the Lebanese restaurant Cedar Land in Dayton. The experience was great as it allowed students to leverage what they have learned in class and connect their knowledge to real life experience. Students enjoyed speaking French outside of the classroom while eating some delicious Lebanese food.
