Minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

Students may choose to pursue a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, thereby gaining foundational perspectives of the issues addressed in the area of study while taking interdisciplinary electives to supplement their major. To be admitted to the minor, students must have a 2.0 GPA with a letter grade of “C” in WGS 2000: Introduction to Women and Gender Studies (Wright State Core Area 5). Students must maintain a grade of “C” for each course counted toward the minor, and at least two elective courses must be 4000-level. Students should refer to the Approved WGS Course List for available options within each elective category or confirm with the program director.

  • Required Prerequisites: 3 courses, 9 credits
    • WGS 3000, WGS 3500, WGS 3600
  • Required Electives, 4 courses, 12 credits
    • One approved WGS course in Gender and Sexuality
    • One approved WGS course in Fine Arts/Humanities
    • One approved WGS course in Social Sciences
    • One approved WGS course in Multicultural or International Perspective
