Brenda Hershey, President and Jackie McClain, Secretary of the Arabic Club participated in the Relay for Life event on April 11 and 12, 2014.
The relay which benefits the American Cancer Society began on Friday, April 11 at 6:00 p.m. and ended on Saturday morning at noon. According to the American Cancer Society website "Teams of people were camped out around the track, where members of each team took turns walking. Food games, and activities were provided and help to build camaraderie."
The event which focuses on community fundraising and family fun also had a survivors lap, and luminaria ceremony to honor those who have been affected by cancer. The fundraiser which occurs yearly helps to fund research of varying cancers.
