Master’s thesis: The Life and Experiences of Middle Eastern Immigrants in the U.S

I was born and raised in Jordan until the age of 11 years old. I graduated from Wright State University with my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in sociology. After graduation, I decided to take my education even further and pursue my master’s degree. I returned to Wright State and completed the Master’s program in Applied Behavioral Science with a 3.8 GPA. The primary goal of this research is to explore and study the life and experiences of Middle-Eastern immigrants in the U.S and how Middle-Eastern immigrants feel about living in the U.S today with the recent policy changes that have taken place. This research sheds light on the kinds of discrimination and harassment these Americans endure and explores the extent to which 9/11, recent policy proposals such as the Muslim ban/Immigration ban, and the election of a president who is perceived by some to be ‘anti-immigrant’ have had on their experiences of harassment and discrimination. Future plans include working in the criminal justice field and attending law school.
