Cello Camp

The Wright State University School of Fine and Performing Arts will be hold its second annual Summer Cello Camp July 15-19, 2019 in the Creative Arts Center of Wright State University.

Wright State faculty cellist Dr. Franklin Cox and Dr. Linda Katz, Emeritus Principal Cellist of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, will lead the participants in rehearsals of both large and small pieces for cello ensemble in preparation for an 8 p.m. Friday concert in Schuster Hall.

From Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18, students will meet for rehearsals Noon–5 p.m. Each day will begin at noon with group lessons in cello technique, theory, and rhythm, followed by two group rehearsals. On Friday, July 19 students will meet at 5 p.m. for dress rehearsals in preparation for the concert.

This camp will be free of charge. However,  donations to the Cello Studio Fund to defray costs would be welcome. Checks can be made out to "Wright State University Foundation" with the memo "Cello Studio Fund", sent to the following address:

All participants must fill out the Registration Form (PDF) and if under 18, the Medical Consent and Liability Waiver for 2019 Summer Cello Camp (PDF) form.
