Dr. Paul Lockhart
Many students first learn to love history when they take a family trip to an historic site, hear a grandparent tell a story, participate in a service project, or seek to understand the roots of a contemporary issue. The History Department faculty at Wright State University encourages this love of history, because it is what motivates our teaching, research, and service. The study of history is a pathway to learning about people who changed the world, different ways of thinking about problems, and new worldviews. It grants us a broader and deeper understanding of our place in the world by helping us understand the events and factors that have shaped our modern world.
