Andy Miller ‘09 B.M., Music Performance

Andy Miller is music director of the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His reputation, demonstrated in many venues, is as an active performer and passionate educator.

Miller has been a featured percussion concerto soloist with symphonies and orchestras at Wright State, Indiana University, the University of Illinois, and many summer festivals, including the Bang on a Can and Atlantic Music Festivals. At Illinois, Miller won the 2010 concerto competition, performing as part of a percussion trio.

In addition to his activity in dance and contemporary chamber music, Miller specializes in Afro-Colombian, West African, and Afro-Brazilian folkloric music. He was awarded a Fulbright fellowship from the U.S. Government to Colombia in 2011 and the Graduate Presser Award from Indiana University in 2015. He is a doctoral candidate in percussion performance at Indiana.
