Donor Profile: Travis and Lisa Greenwood

When Travis and Lisa Greenwood handed organizational communication major Joshua Lisec a compass, his face burst in a large smile at the Annual Communication Department Awards. The audience gave all three a standing ovation.

The compass represents the many paths and choices majors in the communication department will face. Greenwood, a 1984 organizational communication graduate, and his wife, Lisa, awarded the compass to Joshua Lisec in honor of his achievement as the first communication department major to be selected as the Greenwood Integrity Awardee. The Greenwoods created the award that covers the costs of a full-time communication studies, organizational communication or a mass communication student’s annual tuition for their senior year.

CoLA Outstanding Alumnus for 2010 and 2009 Communication Department Outstanding Alumnus, Travis Greenwood sought to recognize a student whose integrity is recognized as a value in and of itself. Candidates for the award require a recommendation by faculty and the candidates are required to submit an essay.

Integrity is a key word for how The Greentree Group, where Travis Greenwood serves as CEO, operates. The Greentree Group was the 2010 Better Business Bureau Eclipse Integrity Awardee and a finalist for the 2011 BBB International Torch Award.

“I am really grateful”, said Joshua Lisec at the awards ceremony. He stressed that the Greenwoods are great role models.
