REL 5510 - Comparative Asian MysticismCredit Hour(s): 3 Examination of the religious phenomenon and category of mysticism in various Asian traditions including Daoism, Hinduism, and Buddhism (both early Indian Buddhism and Japanese Zen). Particular topics include: the nature of mystical and religious experience in general; the relationship between religious experience and other aspects of religions, such as religious practice, doctrine, and language; and the question of the universality of mystical experience.
