The annual Fall Majors and Minors Workshop took place again in the Department of Modern Languages , Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Attendees learned about Ambassador Programs, Classes, Tutoring, Languages Clubs, How to enhance their college experience and the Professors. It was a successful, fun and informative event! Students who missed this workshop are welcomed to visit the Modern Languages offices, 225 Millett, to get information and talk with an advisor. Brochure

The department of Modern Languages invited all faculty, students and staff to the tenth presentation in its lecture series, “Rap Revolution:  The Effects of Banlieue Poetry on French Culture, Language and Politics" on October 12, 2016.  Dr. Halling is a Professor of French in the department of Modern Languages at Wright State University. On October 7, 2016, Wright State University hosted its third Arabic Immersion Day and welcomed 16 students, parents, teachers and the principal from the Islamic Sunday School in Dayton to celebrate the Hijri New Year 1438 known as the Islamic New Year (Arabic: " Ra's al-Sanah al-Hijriya").  The first Islamic year begins in 622 AD with the emigration of Prophet Muhammad  from Mecca to Medina, known as Hijra. Students pledged to speak only Arabic throughout the activities.
